Jesus the Jewish Rabbi

Jesus wasn’t an Italian no matter how much artists love to depict Him as one. He was born in Israel, educated in Israel, lived in Israel, died in Israel, and raised from the dead in Israel. It’s obvious that the gospels used first century Israel as the background, but many people ignored this important context when they read the Bible.

Understanding the context doesn’t only allow us to read between the lines, it’ll also help us to understand what Jesus was really saying and doing. What did it mean when He wrote on the ground? What was the implication when the woman with bleeding issue touched the fringes of His garment? Why did He eat from the the heads of grains from the grain field on Sabbath? And why was he accused by doing so?

Through Hebrew culture, artifacts, and practices, especially those that were common in the first century, this workshop will empower you in your walk with the greatest Rabbi, Jesus (or “Yeshua” in Hebrew), the Son of God.
