The trumpets (or Shofar “שׁוֹפָר” in Hebrew) appeared in the Bible numerous times. Their sound often preceed the arrival of the king or other important events, such as the giving of Instruction (the law) at Mount Sinai, the victory at Jericho, and the gathering of armies from the tribes of Israel. We are awaiting the future sounding of the Shofar at Jesus’ return (1 Thessalonians 4:16), when the dead in Christ will be raised incorruptible and the living will be changed (1 Corinthians 15:52).
Feast of Trumpets is called Yom Teruah in Hebrew. “Yom” means “day” and “Teruah” means “alarm”. In Zephaniah 1:16, the Day of the LORD (the Day of Jesus’ return) is called the day of trumpets and alarm … The day (yom) of trumpets (shofar) and alarm (teruah)… Yom Teruah.
And what does this Day have to do with the seven trumpets in the Book of Revelation?
All these and more will be covered in our “Feast of Trumpets Workshop”, in which we will also introduce the basic skills of blowing the Shofar and the role this ram’s horn musical instrument can take in the gatherings of believers. You will also have the chance to practise the skill of blowing the Shofar. This workshop will be done in collaboration with “Kol Shofar” ministry, a member of Messianic Unity WA.
